I more than enjoy writing. Writing is my pleasure, my therapy, my passion, my mission, and my occupation. I also absolutely adore reading and the two loves are intimately entangled.
Learning to write on paper inspired me to write because I quickly discovered that a writer gets to finish what she wants to say without getting interrupted, talked over, or told to shut up. I've been writing down my thoughts and feelings since very shortly after I was first able to write sentences. I was writing down stories as soon as I realized that that's what authors of fiction do and that's where books come from.
Later I learned that people who read what you say are more likely to actually think about it than people you speak aloud to are. When I see others speak aloud, I can see peoples' attention drifting or not even focusing in the first place while they think of what they are going to say instead of listening to what is being said.
Now, my writing is my only public voice. It is also my primary means of communication.
