What words would YOU use to describe hell on earth without using the actual phrase?
Lying helpless in a nursing home bed in a wet crappy diaper pressing the call button for hours and no CNA is coming!
Being physically helpless and needing to depend on people for (everything) while essentially waiting to die is hell on earth.
In our own English language that is what hell means to many suffering , tormented ,
pain, very true you do not have to go to a fiery place when the worse is present.
Job was being tested by satan , he did not know it as many today. But he ask to g
AMEN TO THAT!!! Especially since the nursing home is getting rich off you. The longer you stay alive and suffer, the more money it makes!
There really is a Hell on Earth.
...It's Newark, New Jersey. Trust me, I've been there.
Have you tried Texas in the middle of summer? Well, no, then, Newark is a cool breeze compared to the middle of Texas.
He ask to go to his grave King James
Job 14:13O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!
he knew there was no suffering there.
How about Oakland CA? It's full of demons!
Murder, sex abuse, rape, child neglect, starving people, homeless people, are just a few things that come to mind.
I will quite simply use the phrase, H-E- double hockey sticks.
Hell on Earth is a VERY long list! But just for the sake of brevity, Anything that causes pain and hopelessness is what I would call hell on earth. Being without hope or hope of rescue would be the worst thing ever. ie - like the answer from dashingscorpio.
Hell on earth is being forever trapped in a stuffy elevator with Gilbert Gottfried as he reads the phone book, over and over.
Not having an education, being socioeconomic poor and impoverished, living in less than human conditions. Not having a good quality of life, constantly struggling, living from day to day, if one can call such a life living when in fact it is a living agonizing death where one dies each day psychologically, even psychically.
It is being born to parents who have made stupid, irresponsible decisions and have to go through childhood deprived because your "parents" (if one can call them that) did not put much forethought into planning for you in terms of providing a quality of life which you had socioeconomic and educational opportunities. So as a child, you are on society periphery so to speak. You are an outsider because of your parent's irresponsible actions.
It is living in East New York, Brooklyn; South Bronx,Bronx, New York'; Alphabet City, New York; and any other deprived neighborhoods throughout America. If that isn't hell, then NOTHING IS!
That is hell for sure. I once saw a show about a kid they called zero. It broke my heart. No one wanted that kid. Nothing at all wrong with the kid, he was just totally unwanted and nobody cared.
Austinstar, I have stressed the importance of family planning and licensing for parents. See the end result of parents acting helter skelter, that poor child. I AM RIGHT!
You are right. I left home at 12 years old because no one wanted me. But i was cursed with intelligence and a strong survival instinct. Not everyone is. I often wished I had never been born. It hurts too much to be unwanted.
Being the OLDEST child in a large/very large family.
In fact, being born into a large/very large family where you aren't even considered an individual but a number. You are just a number to your parents who don't even acknowledge you. You are just there, a mouth to feed, a body to clothe, if that. You live in prison like conditions w/no privacy. You live on top of each other & out in the open. You lead a life which makes an imprisoned slave laborer's life seem like heaven in comparison. In fact, imprisoned slave laborers have a MUCH BETTER life than you do. You are just as dehumanized as an imprisoned slave laborer.
Being interned in a prison or concentration camp where someone else decides whether you should live or die. Where one has to constantly fight to survive day by day, even hour by hour. Drawing upon minimal resources to merely survive.

Is it possible that our earth is actually hell?I have difficulty believing that there is a reason for our world being in the shape that it is in other than we are being tested. What if being banished to hell is not for an eternity, but for what we perceive a our lifetime, a place where we...
