What sort of hubs get chosen to be Editor's Pick?
Is there some sort of 'type' or a certain 'standard', or maybe certain formats or topics? Are there any advantages of being chosen for the Editor's Pick, apart from the obvious ones like self-satisfaction?
In my case, the hubs selected were in the title lists that Hub pages wanted someone to write, 1000+ words, and thoroughly researched.
The biggest advantage was preferential showing of the content and featuring it once in a while, resulting in more views than the average hub.

I opted out of the program, but that hub is no longer showing in Google for the keywords that brought it all the traffic before EC messed it up. How can I...

A few weeks ago I posted something on the forums wondering where the feature for nominating a hub for Editor's Choice had gone. It was removed because of lack of use. Now that Editor's Choice hubs are featured much more prominently, with banners, social media promotions, HOTD...

I've noticed that I keep seeing HOTDs that fit the niche sites yet weren't chosen for the niche sites because they still have HubPages URLs. Why not save some time in the selection process for the niche sites and mine all the recent HOTDs and all of the Editor's Choice hubs for use on the niche...

So I'm replying to a comment on my hub and upon scrolling through the hub (I always check for errors or how I can improve), I see the related hubs section. There are five hubs there including one of mine. What immediately got my attention is that the other four hubs has "editors choice"...
