I thought I would take a quick moment to answer your question. Short stories, serials, and poetry can be a lot of fun to read on Hubpages. Some get a lot of traffic. However, they don't make much money if you are after making money with your fiction. In fact, it is a lot harder to make money with fiction online.

Hubs can be about anything... other than the stuff they say you can't write a hub about.

The only problem with writing fiction hubs is they generally don't get a lot of traffic and consequently don't make you a lot of money. But if you don't care about the money and are just hoping for people to read your stuff go for it.

That's one of the great benefits of HubPages is that you can write about virtually anything that suits your interests. Fiction, opinion, sales and marketing, tips and ideas. Since each hub is it's own separate web page, it also helps to separate these types of hubs from other types of hubs that may be there to generate more money.

I write a serial book which I call short stories, I'm not sure that I attract much traffic but I get a kick out of doing what I do and see it as an opportunity to present different points of view through a work of fiction.

I'm sure if someone wrote something really appealing to a wide audience it would attract a lot of interest.
