Joseph and Rose. Joseph was my father's name. He was a real prick. But before that the name belonged to an ancestor of mine who escaped pre WW1 Germany under religious persecution. I owe my existence to his drive to survive and avoid being hunted by the protestant "Puritan Squads" who had already beaten the rest of his family to death. Joseph is a good name. It needs to be redeemed.
As for Rose, it's classical, self-respecting, strong and elegant. I think of it as a backlash to all these cruddy girl's names I come across: Bubbles, Candi, Cheyenne, etc. It's either childish or ludicrous sounding.
