I've been interested in the old West since a fifth grad nun trying to get me interested in reading, introduced me to childcare's biographies of Kit Carson, Daniel Boone, Cheif Blackhawk and others. My father was a horse enthusiast and went to a lot of western movies bringing me with him at times. we also went to rodeos to see the horses.
pop culture in the 1960's brought a whole array of Western shows and seems like everyone got into the six gun and fast draw syndrome. I also developed an interest in folk music and folklore, much of which dealt with the frontier..
The frontier is a symbol of our country, it's meaning still unfolding for me.
