Why do I love Audible
I love Audible because I am partially disabled and I can't read a book in the normal, written format. It's hard on me to carry any form of weight. It's also hard on me to bend my head down to read as it puts unnecessary pressure on my back.
I also lay down, a lot. That means that I would have to hold a novel up above my head in order to read it. I can't just prop myself up on pillows even. I'm really not very well.
However, an audiobook is a whole other story.
I can lay in bed, close my eyes, and listen. It allows me to be in a comfortable position and not have any strain on my body. I can transport myself to another world and not think about being trapped in my body in this one.
When I feel well enough to stand, I can put in the ear buds and listen. That means I don't have to be the weird person who is just randomly standing outside. I like to get a bit of sun, to not be cooped up all day. Yet, it always looks weird, because I'm just standing there. No dog, no kids, no nothing. But with my ear buds in, listening to a book, it makes me feel less weird.
Audible has made my life so much more enjoyable, and for that reason,I love them.
What kind of things can you listen to?
I have been infinitely delighted at what is available to listen to on Audible. They have everything from fiction, non-fiction, science fiction, romance, historical and even religious.
I am a huge Green Bay packers fan, and in preparation for the season, I thought I would read up on some Lambeau history. Sure enough, they had several books about the Packers, Lambeau field, and coaching icons.
My favorite band is R.E.M.. They even had books about the formation and rich history of the band.
I also just recently watched the HBO miniseries John Adams. I did not know there was so much romance and respect between Abigail Adams and her husband, our second president, John Adams. I wanted to learn more. Guess who had books about this ideal couple? Audible.

I finished Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor.
Dream of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor
I wasn't so impressed with the 3rd installment, but, you be the judge! If there are more books, which I am sure with the way it ended there are more to come, I will probably read those too.
I am listening to The Fault In Our Stars by John Green - Here is John Green at his movie premier
I love John Green. I think he does fantastic work that benefits people. He doesn't just put dribble on the internet. Proof of this is Mental Floss, Crash Course, and his videos with his brother discussing a wealth of topics from gay marriage to getting rid of the penny.
I look forward to seeing his skills at writing novels.
