The Best Self-Help Books for People Who Want to Be Their Best!

Updated on August 31, 2017

It's never too late to heal yourself

If you are looking for the best self improvement books and self-help books then this is a helpful list of the best and most popular self help books available and the great thing is if you can buy them here too.

There are a lot of self-help books, Law of Attraction books and NLP (neuro linguistic programming) titles available at the moment. I have to say since a friend of mine introduced me to The Secret around 3 years ago I have been fascinated by these kinds of books and the practices that they encourage.

I have since read countless books on the topic and surrounding the idea that you can have whatever you want and you are the architect of your own life.

The Law of Attraction, personal development and humans finding ways to improve our lives is not a new idea and while not everyone accepts this law for those that do there is the opportunity to utilise it to improve your own life.

I have read all the books below and have found them useful in different aspects of my life. I thought it was time to write an honest review for each one and I hope that they help you, in this journey of life, as much as they helped me.

Why read the best self help books ever written?

Wealth is not just about how much money you have, what you own or where you live? Wealth is about everything you have from self confidence to people who love you. It's a cliche to say money doesn't bring you happiness but in truth it doesn't. But wealth does! When you realise how to harness wealth by appreciating what you have, building relationships and going after what you really want instead of what you think you can get then you will become happier. Many of us put conditions on our happiness by saying things like I will be happy if..I can just get X, so Y or be Z. But the truth is if you make a decision to be happy right now regardless of your circumstances you will be! These best self help books ever written are worth reading because they provide a wealth of knowledge that some of you may have but most of you will not. They help you understand how to make money, build relationships and love yourself and to me these are lessons that will help you to build the life of your dreams.

In several of his books Paul Mckenna talks about your 'wealth team'. He describes these people as friends, colleagues, employers, authors and people you look upto. They help you stay motivated, strive for what you want and give you advice. Reading self help books gives you access to these people and their secrets of success and I have personally learnt more from these people in a year than I could have ever imagined. I have complied this lists so you don't have to sprawl the internet and bookshops like I did for the best books. I hope they help you as much as they did me.

The Best Self books ever written

This is the book I read most recently. It is written by the most famous hypnotist in the UK. It took me a few weeks to read the book and I started on the self-hypnosis CD which is designed to help you get rid of negative thoughts and ideas and stay focussed on what you want. I love this book and moreso the CD and I would recommend it to anyone I got my dream job after listening to the CD everyday for four days, I also kept finding money in the street and best of all I feel much happier and more confident about achieving my goals. This book really will change your life!

Feel the Fear . . . and Do It Anyway
Feel the Fear . . . and Do It Anyway

This is a great book for understanding fear and how you can overcome it to follow your dreams. It was written many years ago but is still applicable today. If you have recently been through a trauma, divorce, death in the family or you are simply looking for ways to build your confidence this book will help. I think everyone should read this book.

Buy The Science of Getting Rich here

The Science of Getting Rich is one of the most influential books of all time. It is written in quite an old fashioned manner but the contents are pure gold. The movie the Secret was based on this book and it gives you advice on how to improve your mood and in turn how to improve your life. The tone is decisive and authoritative which makes it readable and adds to the readers confidence in the writers words.Fundamentally this book is about increasing your wealth but it also about perception and the importance of it.

How to win friends and influence people

This is one of the oldest self help books in the world but it gives advice on how to improve all your relationships and ways to modify you speech in order to improve people perception of you and in turn help you to get the most out of all your relationships.

Ask and it is Given

Esther Hicks is one of the most respected figures in the Law of Attraction world. She is eloquent and assertive about the concept and all her books encourage using the law in order to manifest all your desires. The methods and processes outlined in this book will be helpful to beginners and more advance students alike. This is well worth a read.

Excuse me your life is waiting

This is one of the best introductions to the law of attraction i have ever read. It is comprehensive and Lynne Grabhorn does not beat around the bush. She tells you exactly what you need to do to make immediate changes and the anecdotes within it are helpful for relating to the author's journey. This book is really life changing.
