Writer's Block: Blank Page

Updated on February 17, 2018

Writer's block is the most terrible feeling. The desire to write is at the tips of your fingers, but no words are coming out. Your brain feels numb and for once, silent.

The pressure to write the world's next epic novel or to write an article that resonates with an audience, any audience is there.

When your true desire is to make money doing what you love, writing, but the blank page is that wall blocking you from that reality.

The article's quality and reception is what limits you to earn the money to support your dream. Yet, maybe the writer's block comes from the reality that maybe I am not good enough to make a living writing.

Maybe writing has always meant to be a hobby.

When I started on HubPages, I had a dream of becoming a writer. I was publishing my short stories that came from the opposite of a writer's block. I wrote articles in a state of a blur and mania. I would start writing and at the end, a story or article was written. I would reread it and the confidence and pride resonated in the words on the page.

So now, I come back to HubPages and mourn my death from writing. I got sucked into my career. I got sucked into opinion pieces that I did not want to publish. I don't want to publish my opinion.

I want to inspire creativity, yet I feel no inspiration.

For now, the cursor will keep blinking as I try to find my inspiration. Maybe in my own personal growth, the cursor will no longer blink and reveal the words of truth, passion, and creativity.

I can battle writer's block for creative writing, but I cannot battle writer's block for writing articles. I think my writer's block comes from the fact that articles are not my strength. I think I need to stick to creative writing.
