borderland

Updated on September 11, 2014

those in the present always think

they are the most significant.

a big shift is happening in our generation,

they muse.

to some degree this is true;

after all, we are living now --

perched atop urgent

pickets between

an immutable past and an idealized future

which may never occur.

the diving bell of the cerebellum runs

deep, like a loyal retriever until the end,

chasing divine play, fire-cracker leaves,

girls-stepping-gingerly-on-their-own-feet.

from molecular to spiritual,

we pay twice

for admittance to

this attenuating melee:

mercifully injected by the

placebos of time and love.
