burgundy chocolate

Updated on August 22, 2011

i have the faintest memory of waking up last night and needing to write this down. when i woke up, i thought it had been a dream or something until i rolled over onto it. i dont remember writing these words, and i have no idea where they came from. i do however remember the dream i was having.

i soak into the staircase

burgundy chocolate dream

breathing in your footstep's echo

harbinger of me

shades of melting satin

flow beneath my skin

parting nocturn's curtain

it cuts me deep within

lungs burning with smoke

drawing in you're sphere

licking absolutions

blowing out the fear

i graze in nightshade's meadow

and brush into the calm

the ground's moss cool beneath me

fire fear the dawn

holding out for thunder

the hopeful chance of grey

without the lace i shudder

feeling soul strings fray

down the darkened path

unfamiliar to me

trusting only bare feet

between my forest trees

truly i am home

when top lash kisses cheek

reborn in time that's still

sandman...conquor me.

thank you guys so much. i find it funny that something i wrote waking out of dead sleep while half asleep is better than anything ive written lately while awake, lmao. and now that you menaiton it slingobay, im wondering what burgundy might taste like as well. hopefully it would have the richness of really expensive chocolate cake, you know the kind they charge more than 10 bucks a slice for at the snooty resturaunts? lol.

Hi Pink'Um: That was an awesome dream filled with delicious inspiration. I can just taste the flavor of burgundy, the color not the wine, in your words. I wonder how great chocolate might taste if flavored with burgundy wine. What a winning product that might become. Barefoot in your forest, I enjoyed the journey.

"licking absolutions" I have to say that that particular line is a standout in a standout piece. Awesome.

this was a very great poem! I enjoyed reading it. It flowed very nice and rolled off my tongue. N i agree with Nikki that song did pop up into mind when I read that last sentence.
