The Little Monkey Wants The Moon - There was once a spoilt little monkey. He wanted everything that he saw
One day the little monkey saw a peacock. The peacock had beautiful feathers. The Little monkey began to cry because he wanted these feathers.
The little monkey`s mother saw him crying. She felt sorry for her son. She went to see the peacock to ask him for a feather
The little monkey tied the peacock`s feather to his tail. He ran about here and there. He wanted to show off his beautiful feather.
On another day, the little monkey saw the rabbit`s long ears. The little monkey thought the ears looked very funny. He then asked the rabbit for his ears.
The rabbit said, "I can`t cut off my ears and give them to you
The rabbit refused to give his ears to the little monkey. Then the little monkey rolled about on the ground. He began to cry and scream loudly.
"I want those big ears! I want the rabbit`s ears!" the little monkey shouted.
The rabbit was very scared. He ran away. From that day, no one wanted to play with the little monkey.
One night, the little monkey saw the moon high up in the sky. The moon was big and bright. The little monkey was very happy to see the moon.
The little monkey quickly went to his mother. He asked, "I want the moon that is high up in the sky".
The little monkey`s mother answered, "The moon is too far away. I cannot reach the moon.
The little monkey started crying again. He insisted he wanted the moon. The mother monkey wondered what she should do.
The mother monkey had an idea. She decided to fish out the moon that was in the water. She used a stick to do this.
As she was trying to fish the moon out the water, she suddenly fell into water with "splash"!
Don`t spoil the children too much because a spoilt child will cause a lot of trouble for his parents
spoilt - selfish because one`s parent had not disciplined him or her.
show off - try to make everyone look at and admire oneself.
refused - did not want.
wondered - thought about.
fish - pull from the water
