My Laptop

Rectangular and portable,
My laptop is capable
Of filtering hidden mountains of information
To a fountain of good sense information
Right at my desk.

My laptop is my friend, my companion,
Determined to make me a champion.
So like a man to his bible or new wife,
I shall cling to it for life.

Science

Science is a treasure,
Difficult to measure...
Science is a boon1;
Its magic is carrying man to the moon...

Science is a mystery,
Full of chemical history,
Solved by ultimate chemistry...
Symbol of silence,
Factor of brilliance,
Science is the challenge of excellence...

Science of universal ecology,
Narrated by Biology...
Where Plants and animals have
Their separate morphology...
Section of treatment and cure for danger
Biology provides a magical chamber...
Physics is the science of
Relations and notions,

For which technology moves
With gradual motions...
World of creation,
World of resource,
Together bonded with
Gravitational force...

Science of statistics,
Played with mathematics
Wonders of geometry,
Aspiring the heights of earthly creativity...
In the world of scientific creation,
Mathematics is searching for its own solutions...

World of technology,
World of science,
Mortal without the computer’s advice...
Manufactured feature,
Universal preacher,
Widely used
Apartheid in nature... Connecting people,

Connecting mates...
The world is in the custody of internet...

Science the wonder
Science the great,
Constructing bridges of
Success and faith...
Rapidly developing nations and states...

Communication

Like a muster seed on fertile soil,
Your growth has been smart though through much toil
From gestures to word of mouth
Then to written letters which sometimes took a month.
Then you moved to fax and telefax
Which kept you waiting for want of digital facts.

Then digital technology was born
And it did not take long
For mobile phones, laptops and internet
Which long started as intranet
To give birth to emails and others,

Today, we call, chat and tweet,
Visualize, attach pictures and read.
Communication has truly gone smart
Am afraid many may go mad.

Bonne Appétit

Revealed in a dream by the gods,
Mama Obenakpa attempted thrice as was taught
But failed until the goddess herself came
In person from the earth crust to cook it same
As has been taught thrice in a dream.
So the king food, fufu and eru
Came to be the main food of the people of Manyu.

Inspired by the god of travelers,
To the m a fa ws of the grasslanders
Like a journey man, achu has never stopped to travel,
Has always gone further to marvel
Doubtful Thomases of its sweetness to the world.

The water spirits themselves taught in strange writing
The planting, harvesting, washing and cooking
Of the bitter sweet leaves, ndole
Now winning grounds in New York, Paris and Tole

La Belle Dame sans Merci

O what can ail thee, knight-at-arms,
Alone and palely loitering?
The sedge is withered from the lake,
And no birds sing.

O what can ail thee, knight-at-arms,
So haggard and so woe-begone?
The squirrel’s granary is full,
And the harvest’s done.

I see a lily on thy brow,
With anguish moist and fever dew,
And on thy cheeks, a fading rose
Fast withereth too.

I met a lady in the meads,
Full beautiful, a fairy’s child;
Her hair was long, her foot was light,
And her eyes were wild.
I made a garland for her head,
And bracelets too, and fragrant zone;

She looked at me as she did love,
And made sweet moan.

I set her on my pacing steed,
And nothing else saw all day long,
For sidelong would she bend, and sing
A faery’s song.

She found me roots of relish sweet,
And honey wild, and manna dew,
And sure in language strange, she said
‘I love thee true’.

She took me to her Elfin grot,
And there she wept and sighed full sore,
And there I shut her wild, wild eyes
With kisses four.

And there she lullèd me asleep,
And there I dreamed—Ah! woe betide!—
The latest dream I ever dreamt
On the cold hillside.

Pale warriors, death-pale were they all;
They cried—La Belle Dame sans Merci
Hath thee in thrall!’

I saw their starved lips in the gloam,
With horrid warning gaped wide,
And I awoke and found me here,
On the cold hill’s side.

And this is why I sojourn here,
Alone and palely loitering,
Though the sedge is withered from the lake,
And no birds sing.
