Cookies And The Dog

COOKIES

I smelt the cookies my Mum just took out of the oven.
I could eat all of those cookies with so much loving.
It's a shame that she is watching me to see if I am coming.
I could grab one when she is not looking.
Once that moment comes when she walks away,
I will grab one and eat it in one bite,
Then run away really fast with all my might.
If I move fast enough,
I will stay out of her eyesight.

I then started to work out my plan.
Quickly I ran,
Through the living room,
Jumped over the GI Joe man,
Kicked my Sister's plastic pan,
Made it to the kitchen with an outstretched hand………
To my astonishment
Out of nowhere I had to jump over my wooden toy log.
Alas – It was over just as it had begun,
Due to landing after my splendid jump.
My feet had hit the ground all wrong,
With a loud thud as I hit the ground,
My body made a loud sound.
As I looked up with a mixture of pain and excitement there I saw,
All those precious cookies were now all gone.
With a bewildered look upon my face,
I turned to glare at that log.
That is when something caught my eyes.
I have to admit – Even I was surprised!
There he was standing by the table,
The eyes expressing pleasure as he moved that slobbery old jaw.
I was beaten by my friend Jackson –
THE DOG!
