form and time

form and time

FORM AND TIME

Is anything new?

Well, I don’t think so.

Only form and time can tell.

Years ago I was a baby,

Later an adolescent

Later an adult

And now, a spirit.

Some say I will be a baby again.

But it’s just been me in form and time.

Sometime I was called tree, springing with life to give animals life.

Later wood, beautifying cars, houses, furniture

Sometimes manure, to give plants life

Sometimes ash

Sometimes paper

Sometimes door

But it’s just been me in form and time.

Sometime I was the blood that gave plants life

Later they called me rubber,

Later glass

Later plastic, tire, insulator

Sometimes gum

I was worn on the head, neck, feet

But it’s just been me in form and time.

Sometime I was a large and hard body in and above the ground

Later they called me sand

Sometimes gravel

Sometimes stone

Sometimes brick

But it’s just been me in form and time.

Sometime I was a cow

Later they called me meat

Sometimes leather

Sometimes skin

Sometimes shoe

Sometimes bag

And worst, manure

I don’t care

But it’s just been me in form and time.

So they called my friend lots of names

Steel, debris, iron, harmer, digger, shovel,

Sometimes wire

And when we are used together,

We are called car

Sometimes furniture

Sometimes carpet

Sometimes computer

Sometimes radio, TV, house; many names

But it’s just been us in form and time.

Very beautiful! I love the alliteration and repetition. Voting up and of course beautiful.
