   What do you think is the most peaceful setting to read a book?

   Next to an open window while it is raining. I used to read in a screened-in porch, which became my favorite spot. But being next to a window so you can feel the breeze and hear the changes in weather is, in my opinion, the most serene setting.

   Somewhere that surrounds me with a feeling that can only be described as "cozy." Such as curled up in a squishy armchair by a fireplace during winter. Propped in bed while thunder rumbles outside and I'm safe and warm and dry in my home. Quiet is a key component, but I enjoy the sounds of other people reading - pages turning, newspapers wrinkling, the plastic library coverings crackling - so tucked away in a corner of my local library is nice as well.

   Well for me I would prefer to sit and read in a rather comfortable chair on a relatively peaceful patio covered in a canopy of "bougainvillea" with my Belgian Mally and shepherd by my side during a cool eve or morn. Although I love my better-half profoundly, I would quickly become distracted by her company; thus, if I was alone with our beasts I think my reading time would be optimal.

   I too like the sound of water and one of my top choices is reading on a beach.  However i is about a four drive to one.  I have a chair that sits next to a window in my house and love to sit in it and listen to the rain.  I have several water fountains-the small tabletop ones and have them going.  The sound of water is very relaxing.  Then I like to read in bed.  I work night shift and like to turn on my kindle and read a chapter or two of an e-book before I go to bed.  Sometimes I go in my attic or on my porch to red.  The porch is built in and the attic is finished, I have a beanbag chair up there.  Of course when I am at the gym or in my attic workout room-I like to read while walking on the treadmill or riding the exercise bike.

      that does sound relaxing, i cannot read on device though has to be a real book for me

      I do both, but prefer the real thing as well because reading on a device sometimes put too much strain on my eye.
