This is a beautiful article by John, portraying how forgiveness can help us to go ahead in life without misery at heart. There is a poem and flash fiction, teaching us the art of forgiveness. Here is the link to his article:
Great response to the word prompt, Forgiveness. I firmly believe in this golden word, and I agree with the thoughts expressed in your poem and story. Beautiful writing and I liked it very much.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful post.
Thank you Rosina for sharing this in the forum.
Thank you so much for sharing the link to my article, Rosina. I appreciate your generous comment about the poem and flash fiction too. Take care.
You know me...I just couldnt go to sleep without reading your work.
I love the way you describe Forgiveness in your article, "Words of Forgiveness."
You are spot on! We need to consider what forgiveness is as well as what it isn't.
Your poem, "Forgive Them ~ A Poem" is absolutely amazing.
You've included alot of ways that we are harmed by others like being struck in the face, jealousy, cheating, forsaking our love and other things.
But then you stress an important point.
That if we hold grudges it holds us back..keeping us chained to the problem.
If we forgive, we find freedom to laugh, love and live our life.
"Tis better to Forgive than hold a grudge."
"The Bully ~ A Flash Fiction Story" has a valuable lesson.
Forgive others & pay it forward when you can.
Victor was bullied in school and vowed to never be bullied again.
Years later he runs in to this person scavenging in the streets, broken & poor.
He couldn't believe it. This man he hated more than anything but he found compassion in his heart to forgive him.
Not only did he forgive him, he handed him a One Hundred Dollar bill & told him to pay it forward when he got back on his feet.
This is a wonderful story. I'm glad I stayed up to read it.
I can tell you first hand, it really makes a difference when someone helps you out without asking them too.
Paying it forward is a great lesson for others to learn as well.
I'll post a link in the word prompt article.
Thank you for your wonderful comment and analysis, Brenda. I am glad you found these contained valuable lessons. Sorry to keep you up to read this.
Excellent, but why would we expect anything less from one of the best writers on HP?
All I can say is what brilliant writing you conveyed, John, in your poem and short fiction piece regarding forgiveness. Thanks, Rosina, for sharing it in the forums.
John, this is really touching. Your poem is beautiful, the quotes are thought-provoking, but best of all is your flash fiction. I know from personal experience that harboring bitterness against someone who has wronged you does nothing to hurt the offender. It hurts you, deep down in your heart. It becomes like a cancer, making you ugly and taking away from the person you were.
Thank you for posting this Rosina. I really appreciate John's inciteful poetry that covers so many different examples. The short fiction graphically focuses in on a very meaningful episode of forgiveness.

John, what a lovely response to the word prompt,‘Forgiveness’. I loved reading your poem and flash fiction story. Splendid work as always, my dear friend. I loved these lines from your poem and these lines truly touched my heart:
‘ Don’t judge those who are violent,
Offensive and uncouth.
They had unhappy childhoods,
Or abused and troubled youth.’ ~ John Hansen.
Many times we forget to think that way. Every soul has his own struggles, who knows what the other person is going through, it’s always good to forgive if not for them than at least for our own peace of mind. I loved it all. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you so much, Rosina, for sharing John’s work.
Blessings to both of you
