Alyssa has Wowed me with her words once again!
Take a moment to read her piece on Forgiveness.
It's been freezing rain and sleeting all day here.
Soon to change to snow.
I'm with you, I wish we could skip this part of Old Man Winter.
As for your poem:
You've captured it.
We all tread those deep waters trying to make it to the other side.
We want to see that sunlight.
But there are times we almost toss in that towel...as we look back.
We must forgive ourselves, as well as those hot coals we keep hidden close in our heart...so we can survive.
I'd rather turn them into fuel and keep going, but we all stumble.
Great writing. You've outdone yourself once again.
I'll post a link in the word prompt article

True, the process of forgiveness is not as easy or immediate as we are tempted to believe. Alyssa paints a picture that explains the struggle pretty well. Thanks, Alyssa. Thanks,Brenda.
