Hello John!
https://hubpages.com/politics/No-News-I … y-and-Poem
I liked reading your article and the poem, inspired by the forum post by Misbah.
This is more relevant, because you have given references to the “hot selling news ( bad, of course)”.
I avoid watching TV news, especially early morning and in the night. If you switch off the TV, the other social medias, spreading news, views, debates and opinions ( true or false), the World is beautiful and has many good news to share.
Your poem is beautifully expressed and thoughtful.
Thank you for sharing this excellent post.
I liked your article also John. It was uplift, and I agree we need some good news. I am glad Misbah wrote about us needing good news.
Your poem was excellent, as always. I try to avoid news also, but it is not easy as my husband has it on in the morning, I try to focus on writing or reading the articles of others.
Thanks for posting John's article Chitrangada.
Pamela, I am happy that you found this article uplifting. Most of my reading likewise, is articles written by other hubbers. My wife listens to and watches the news. She can tell me if there is something I desperately need to know.
Thank for reading.
Thanks for sharing this meaningful article! It was a good read. I enjoyed it!
I really liked this article, John, inspired by Misbah's "good news" forum post. I myself don't like watching TV news or reading the newspaper. I love to read self-help books instead. They have helped me a great deal. As you will realize, a majority of my articles on HubPages end on a positive note.
I loved your flowing poetry a lot. The joke about the cheap zoo and gorilla gave me a huge laugh. It was a good way to end your article. I really appreciate it. Thank you for entertaining and making my evening lovely.
Thank you, Chitrangada, for sharing John's fantastic work.
Awww... You are such a sweet and caring friend, John. It made me smile and I loved it. I appreciate you so much for spreading happiness.
I loved this quote by Bob Hope:
"The good news is that Jesus is coming back. The bad news is that he's really pissed off."
These beautiful lines in your poem are super powerful:
"Why do others seek bad news?.....when other people suffer pain."
"So, let's all rebel against bad news,.......Light the 'Good News' fire."
"Don't let naysayers douse it,..... hate and fear make you insane."
I enjoyed the commentary, poem as well as story. So the lion was also fake. Interesting!
I'd like to join such a zoo, maybe as a Panda, Zebra, or Kangaroo. I absolutely love these animals.
Thank you so much for creating this beautiful hub, dear friend. You are a very thoughtful and supportive friend. I'm really grateful to you! Much gratitude!!
I was about to start a forum discussion for your hub but noticed that Chitra Di had already done so
Thank you for spreading smiles!
Many Blessings to you and your family!!
Thank you so much, Misbah. I am happy that you enjoyed this article, those particular lines, and Bob Hope’s quote. Yes, the lion was fake too..and probably all the other animals as well I am sure you’d make a great panda haha. Blessings.
I enjoyed the gorilla lion joke. Thanks Misbah for inspiring John's poem about promoting good news over bad, and thanks Chitrangada for showcasing his work. Let's douse negativity and concentrate on being more positive. We will all benefit by doing that. Sending warm thoughts and
Hi,
I really enjoyed reading your thoughts and poem. I live by this motto of mine. 'I am not a sponge for others negative words--I am a positive person and I rise above it. And if I can help someone feel better about an issue--I do."
I remember my grandfather saying to his sons-"The more you stir something the worse it stinks.'
Bobbi Purvis
John’s article is important. We shouldn’t completely ignore serious problems in the world or in our own lives, but constantly thinking about them is harmful. We need some positivity and happiness in our lives.
John...
I missed Misbah's post but it sounds like a great idea.
Good news...I'm all in.
I enjoyed reading your article & poem.
Loved the quote by Bob Hope.
Hi Brenda, glad you are feeling better at the moment and back home. I am sure it will be a load off your mind having the heart monitor, but still hope they get to the bottom of what is causing the problem.
Thank you fir reading this. Yes, it is a great initiative by Misbah to concentrate on only good news.
Ive requested my medical records...like all good things...one must do it themselves.
I'll find another doctor probably.
But the monitor is helping to ease my worry.
In the meantime...good news stories.
Interesting article, John as inspired by Misbah's forum post. I enjoyed reading. I liked the poem, quote and the story too.
Thank you for creating this one. I too don't like to view news on TV or cell phones. Instead I love to read articles on HubPages.
Thank you Chitra di for sharing.
