Female appearance at a party

   While at a party, can you easily distinguish the difference between a "Lady" and a "Woman"?
   
   A "Lady" will go to the party and enjoy herself, then go home and go to bed.
   
   A "Woman" will go to the party and enjoy herself, go to bed, and then go home.

   Wow, Dave.  That's fairly...well, really chauvinistic and condescending.  While I admire and respect a 'lady' as much as anyone else, I have always preferred to be called a 'woman' as it implies a much more genuine, stronger individual.  A lady can give fabulous advice about how to eat your dinner, where the forks should go, and what is 'appropriate' conversation in mixed company.  A woman, however, can give birth to a child through great pain and struggle, take care of and truly love a family through the best and worst of times, and can stand strong when a 'gentleman' discards her to go have his fun elsewhere.  She is the center of the existence of her family, the fulcrum on which it is balanced, and always the source of healing when it experiences pain or trial.
   
   In the same vein, Dave, I'm grateful to have a real man in my home rather than a phony gentleman.  After all, a real man can be a gentleman - mine is.

   Hmmm...after realizing that this was put up in the 'jokes' category, I'm a bit sheepish at having responded so passionately.  I'd suggest that this is one you might want to keep to yourself or only share among your male friends, Dave.

      Motown: It is not a problem. It is important for people to know and understand that although for the most part, I am a very serious person, especially when it comes to my religion and other topics I am passionate about like my recipes, there is a very funny and humorous person inside me too. As a matter of fact, I am extremely complex.

   As long as it's a joke - cute one.    (I don't think a lot of people on here are used to seeing jokes posted by DM.  Sometimes a reputation for being serious most of the time can precede someone.  )    I didn't notice it was a joke at first either.  The light, light, gray and teensy little headings at the top of the page  really could stand to be a little bigger.

   Woman/Lady? Neither word has any sexual innuendo attached to it. both words are generic titles given to the feminine gender.  The notion that a woman is loose morally is chauvinist and ridiculous. Personally I could have gone without reading this type of foolishness.

   I get where you are coming from: you want to be "strong". I agree with that. However, in the joke, I consider the "lady"'s characteristics to be stronger. The person who can hold their moral ground and make a decision based on their inner feelings (the Holy Spirit for baptized believers), is stronger than the person who lives based on the Hollywood code.
   
   Sleeping with whoever you want in college, and losing virginity on prom night are two of the lies promoted by Hollywood.
   
   Others may be interested to know the origin of the term "if it feels good, do it." This term originated in the 1950's as a predecessor to the 60's "sexual revolution".
   
   In the 1950's, a group of Satanists put the Satanic Bible into mass publication. The Satanic Bible has just one commandment: "do what thou wilt".
   
   So, the female that sleeps with a stranger, then goes home the next morning, is actually following the law of Satan. The female who enjoys society, and preserves her purity follows my Father in Heaven.
   
   PS- "purity" means obedience to God, not just virginity.

   Oh my (), it looks to me like there's a big "lighten up" factor that needs to be introduced here (except for Motown's post, where she said he didn't realize it was a joke and essentially "canceled" her original reaction to the thread title).  Somebody posted a joke that may or may not be funny to a lot of other people. 
   
   This thread (in the "jokes" section) started out with a little joke.  All of a sudden there's talk about "the Satanic Bible" sick jokes, virginity, or whatever else.  I would have expected stuff like, "Ha ha, Dave" or "Sorry, Dave, I don't think that joke's funny"
   
   So the joke suggests it's not very "ladylike" to go to a party and "live it up" with whomever someone meets at the party.  A lot of people don't think that is really is very ladylike or dignified (man or woman).  The joke is sexist, but sometimes there's something to be said for overlooking some things about some jokes.   I kind of think at this point this whole thread ought to be moved out of "jokes" and into the religious forum, where people can then direct their hostility toward the OP and/or about the joke they don't happen to get/appreciate.    Apparently, Hell hath no fury like a person subjected to a joke he doesn't appreciate.
