Don't Eat the M&M's Earbuds!

Updated on April 22, 2012

The Product Package

I received earbuds from my friend that display the M&M's emblem. How excited am I! I have collected M&M's memorabilia for years and love the chocolate taste of the edible bite-size candy as well. Great gift, no issues on this point.

And So The Fun Begins...

I take a closer look at the candy, er, ahem, I mean the packaging.

I'm so glad the M&M's company notified me not to eat the package! I was tempted until I read the line:

Not Candy!

Even after I read the descriptor I'm not sure whether to consume or not. Then I see the exclamation point at the end of the line. Whew! Now I confirm, hey these are earbuds and not in the edible form that I find in the food aisle at Walmart.

Thankfully, the "Precautionary" section on the back of the packaging instructs me further:

Do not ingest any part of this product.

Point taken! (The exclamation point makes sense here). I am so thankful the M&M's company saved me from ingesting the earbuds and then sitting in the hospital waiting room for a few hours.

I hope the smart packaging has helped you to avoid a similar disaster!

Haha. Christy, the ear buds look like the real thing. Over in Singapore, we have miniature models of real food and they look really yummy too!!

Cute story. Think you could put a little more pizazz into the title to get readers interested. This is just the type of story that can do very well just by readers stumbling across it.
