He Stole My Soul

Updated on July 31, 2010

He came without a visual~

He came with soft whispers~

He stole my soul~

While I listened~

I was unaware of his lies~

 As they glistened.

He told me what “he thought I wanted”~

He promised things “anyone would want”~

He stole my soul~

As I spoke~

He knew I me as genuine~

Good natured “to let him in”.

He used the wire to speak his trickery~

He used various medias to be a gleaming one~

He stole my soul~

And wavered my faith in man~

He was not real or true to himself~

 Ruling with a manipulated hand.

The time came for us to meet~

Than calls were not returned~

He stole my soul~

As I lay waiting~

My heart confused in disbelief.

He shattered my faith in humanity~

That day that time came~

He stole my soul~

My joy teetering~

My mind circling with muddy wonderment~ Devotion questioned fleeting.

Now I have to move forward~

Renew my faith in people~

He stole my soul~

The day he stood me up~

The first meeting never happened~

My hopes still “giving up”.

Could had sworn he was one of the “good guys”~

Even a special keeper~

He stole my soul~

For just a minute~

A jerk, liar and loser…

I am glad “I am not still in it”.

I know there is bits of good in man~

I must be encouraged to believe~

He stole my soul~

His loss~

Because I survive~

 With impending glee…

Micky Dee I absolutely loved your ramble! saddlerider, silvergenes, ralwas and Micky Dee~ It is so hard to keep faith in mankind with the net and all, I try hard to not let those bad apples spoil the human bunch. I think we all have to make efforts when those unbelievable prikery people enter our lives to concentrate and remember the astounding giving people we also meet in life; As well live life ourselves with best intentions and intentful follow through to live the best example to improve man and not add to the negativism..Although truly these trying times are hard to overcome and also nip away at our faith all the more fight we need to combat it! PEACE & BLESSINGS TO ALL!

Searching and heartbreaks are timeless like the sands that share our oceans. Just when one thinks that they have found that shooting star it fizzles into dust. Our heart is the most vulnerable and we keep welcoming shooting stars with the hope that it is our brightest and our last. Peace

Oh dear, so sorry you had to go through this pain. Good men are out there yet, I know. Micky is one and Saddlerider. Just be careful with that heart. x CC

I love all your work. All I've seen anyway. This speaks to me of the world that is today. I suppose I have given up. I don't know when it happened. It was long ago though. Maybe Vietnam. Yep. That was it. I say I've given up. I still give the benefit of the doubt. I allow the world to prove it's wrong again. Private is how I must live. Venturing into trusting can only be brief. Everyone wants to "trade up". Everyone wants the American dream that doesn't exist. Sorry I've rambled. Great hub! It's real and it's today. It must have been yesterday too.
