Hop on Pop by Dr. Seuss

Updated on August 6, 2011

The First Book I Ever Read

We all have a first book. For me it was "Hop on Pop" by Dr. Seuss. I was in kindergarten.

It was a great first book, because I liked challenges, and that book has two big words in it:

Constantinople and Timbuktu.

It took me awhile to learn those words, but I finally did it!

The book also has a "bonus" section with a whole bunch of small words but with the spaces missing! This section was a puzzle that I enjoyed working on.

I read Hop on Pop over and over! It was a great first book!

I felt proud because I could read all of the small words and the BIG words!

My 'kids', then my grandkids, loved Hop on Pop, as they did all the Dr. Seuss books. Lensrolled to my 'Reading' lens.
