How to Eat a Cupcake- Fun Book for Bookclub
Fun Book to Read for Book Club
How to Eat a Cupcake is a delightful lighthearted novel with a touch of romance, a bit of mystery and some interesting characters. I found it to be the perfect book for our book club meeting.
It was my turn for book club and I was looking for something light to read. The past few months we had read some great books that gave us some great insight into history, but now I thought we were ready for some lighter reading. A neighbor recommended How to Eat a Cupcake and it sounded like the perfect book for our next meeting.
The book turned out to be wonderful, everyone in our book club thoroughly enjoyed it and we had a great discussion on the characters and the relationships in the book. As an added bonus, the book lent itself to the perfect dessert for our meeting. Cupcakes!

How to Eat a Cupcake - Meg Donahue
This was the first novel by Meg Donahue and she did a great job. I love the way she entertwined relationships, mystery and romance into a delightful tale of two women opening a cupcakery.
I am not big on books that give so many minuet details that you feel overwhelmed right from the beginning. In this book, the author gives just the right amount of detail so you can follow the story and you want to keep reading to see what happens next. You are never quite sure what is going to happen and I was kept guessing about the mystery until the very end.
I highly recommend this book by Meg Donahue and I am looking forward to her next book.
Book Club Discussion
How to Eat a Cupcake
For our book club discussion, I used questions that I got from the author's website. I used question 2 through 9 and they worked great as discussion starters. Many of the questions centered on the two main characters and their relationships with each other and their mothers.
When I got to question 10 about how you eat a cupcake, I went around the room and each person talked about how they eat a cupcake. I then served some cupcakes for dessert and everyone sat around eating cupcakes. It was a great finish to a fun evening.
Meg's page also has some great ideas for cupcakes and decorations, so if you are using this book for book club, I recommend that you stop by her page.
Serving Cupcakes - cupcake server
I made my own server using a plate and an inverted liquor glass, but this design would be great if you had a lot of cupcakes to serve.
this is a perfect way to display your cupcakes.
