My mind never tells

Forgive; forget

Why live in this hell?

A strange hunger of sorts

I will not resort

Cannot give in

To these derogatory retorts

A smirk

A tease

I aim to please

I beg it to stop

It pities me not

With your toes in the sand

Yet again think of me

As if I were holding your hand

When you see a bird soaring up high

Think of how my soul yearns to be free

Although it's freedom often denied

When I see the sunrise

With all the beautiful hues

It reminds me of your eyes

And their uncanny ability to see me through

When I look at the stars

Painted on the endless night sky

I am reminded of how close to you I am not

Yet when I see you, what I really want to say is
