If You Give A Cat A Cupcake Book Review

Written by Laura Numeroff and Illustrated by Felicia Bond

If You Give A Cat A Cupcake features the cat who appeared in If You Give A Pig A Party only now he is lucky enough to have his own book!

If you are familiar with the series, this book follows in good form. "If you give a cat a cupcake, he'll ask for some sprinkles to go with it," it begins. From that point on this book continues...to the beach...to the karate class...to the park and eventually giving the cat some more sprinkles again...

This series is a much loved one recommended for children aged 3 to 7.

Amazon Customer Reviews of this book include:

Once again Numeroff does a fantastic job! This is a great book. My daughter had cupcakes made for her 4th birthday and received this as a gift from her older sister :) She absolutely loves it. And loves that her older sister reads it to her! ~~ Monica M. White

In this one, you get to make a mess, go to the beach, the gym and do all sorts of fun things just for giving a silly little kitten a cupcake. It is a good read with the basic elements of early learning. The rhyming style is very child-friendly. This series is classic and belongs in any young library. ~~ C. Ayres "versweet"

I find the Amazon Customer Reviews a great place to start when I am looking for reviews of items.

Who is Laura Numeroff? Why She's The Author Of The If You Give A Cat A Cupcake Book!

Why She's The Author Of The If You Give A Cat A Cupcake Book!

Meet Laura Joffe Numeroff. She is an author and illustrator of children's books. Possibley the most famous one is If You Give A Mouse A Cookie. She was born in New York and is the second author I have written about recently who was an avid reader and who knew, as a child, that she wanted to be a writer. Before she followed the path to being a writer though, she went to college to study fashion design but eventually decided that wasn't for her. She took a writing class instead and renewed her interest in writing. If you are interested in reading more about Laura Numeroff, you might enjoy reading If You Give an Author a Pencil, her biography which is written so that children as young as nine can enjoy reading about her background.

Laura has received many awards including a California Young Reader Medal, a Colorado Children's Book Award, Georgia Children's Picture Storybook Award, Nevada Young Readers' Award, Buckeye Children's Book Award, Quill Award and The Milner Award. Her books have been honored in other ways. Oprah choose two of them for her Kid's Reading List and Laura Bush invited her to the White House to be honored for the "If You Give a..." Series.

Who is Felicia Bond?

Why She's The Illustrator of If You Give A Cat A Cupcake!

Felicia Bond also knew when she was a child of just five years old what she wanted to be. In her case, it was an artist. She has illustrated many children's books and written many of her own as well. She lives in New Mexico.

Oh Brenda this is adorable! I remember reading "If You Give a Moose A Muffin" to the kids in the library years ago. I always got such fun giggles from them. This almost makes me want to go back to work at the library so I could read "If You Give a Cat A Cupcake" to them! Using some of my last Angel dust to bless this lens!

So funny! I'll have to get it in spite of the fact my younger one still isn't that good in English. It would probably be a great motivation to learn some new words.
