'Tiger Eyes' Blume's First Motion Picture

(Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret), (Other Wise Know As Sheila The Great), (Fudge-a-mania), Are just a few books written by the Acclaimed Young Adult And Children's Author, Judy Blume.

Blum's ability to reach out to a young audience from all cultural backgrounds makes her one of the most prominent authors of our time.

Judith Blume was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, February 12, 1938. Judy was raised in a Jewish household. Her dad Ralph Sussman, was a dentist, and her mother a homemaker. Blume spent a lot of time dreaming up stories. Graduating from Battin High School in 1956, she then enrolled in Boston University. Her ongoing journey lead her to New York University in which she received her bachelor’s relating to teaching in 1661.

Judie's dedication to reaching out to young women through the art of writing has made her an icon among young adult readers. Yet, her realistic themes touching on subjects such as sex, drugs, and Alcohol abuse have caused controversy.

Judie's first book to blossom into a motion picture is a young adult book entitled , 'Tiger Eyes'. This young adult novel was written In 1981. The controversial storyline sparked complaint. However banning attempts did not stop Judie's heartfelt novel from reaching the big screen in 2012.

'Tigers Eyes" is about a fifteen year old girl named Davey who is traumatized by the brutal murder of her father. In need of change Davey, her younger brother and mother move out of Atlantic City to New Mexico, to live with her Aunt Bitsy and her husband Walter.

During Davey's search for closure she encounters a close friend with issues of her own. Dealing with bouts of depression and rage, Davey is in search of a different kind of relationship. An odd encounter with an older man named Wolf, helps Davey to cope through her father's death.

      This was nice to read. Someone not to well known, at least here in Europe or maybe I should say I haven't heard of her.

      A good review of Judie Blum's "Tiger Eyes" with teenagers not always being an easy subject.
