Order of Life

Updated on February 18, 2012

This narrative poem was written on June 29, 2001. It was the time when, like now, I was experiencing a major change in my life.

Order of Life

You keep running here and there;

You are not even chasing rainbows;

You run without a direction, you just spin 'round and 'round;

You fear your shadow;

It follows you wherever you are;

And so you run as fast as you can and as far can be;

You stumbled, collapsed then awaken only to continue running round' and 'round once more.

You run away again from your own shadow; wondering why it sticks with you

The one that you fear most.

You run to the broad light of day but you see nothing;

Except the monstrous shadow that the light creates;

You take shield in darkness for the shadow to disappear;

But the cold and chill paralyze your marrows;

Even your scream won't let out from your frozen throat;

Choked by the endless darkness in the night of your life.

The cares of life overwhelm you;

Anxiety grips your core;

Your mind is numbed and cloudy;

So you locked yourself into the darkest corner of your existence;

As you turn away from your truth; then you close your eyes in order to forget;

Oh feeble mind,

When will you come to terms with your self?

Don't you ever realize that the shadow has no essence and is powerless to destroy you?

Why are you hiding in that cloak and facade of retardation?

Shadows are there to announce the exact time of day;

And to urge you to move on to a sure destination.

Stop making them a monster;

Thus keeping you away from your unfolding truth;

Welcome the world of colors, shapes, clarity and natural beauty.

Stop running to and fro;

Think and be reasonable;What are your desires?

Know your self and start from there;

Accept your truth and let it unfold in its own phase;

Create the life you contemplate and focus on it;

Think. Think.Think.

Think on how you can achieve your dreams.

Look around and look good!

Look for the materials and tools to build your dream;

This world is in abundance to meet your every need. Just look and see;

Look up to your star;

Look up to the sun of your existence;

It gives you the brightest light that even the shadow cannot persist.

The energy from the sun makes everything possible for you; feel it, know it, embrace it;

The darkness is made for you to rest;

Sleep peacefully in the night;

And work joyfully during the day;

Only then could you have a balanced life;

If you follow the order that your life should be.

      I love this... can definitely identify with it. "Know yourself and start from there"...very wise advice. Beautiful piece of work, Jynzly.

      Hi LauraD093,

      Thanks for reading my hub.

      Every human have sometimes, if not often, been gripped with so much grief, sadness, broken hearts and to infinity of these types of depressing emotions due to circumstances surrounding them in a given time and stage in their lives. In fact statistics show that there are 32,000 suicides every year in the U.S. because they feel like they are in the dead end of their existence.

      If only they hold on to life a little bit more time, they would realize shortly that everything passes by...and I mean everything...people, money, job, love ones, relationships, problems, circumstances...nothing is permanent.

      So feel your sadness now...face it and accept it as part of your growth and development, as part of life, of living; then in your heart and mind see yourself in a different situation; see yourself in the light.

      Thank you once more and God Bless.

      This is powerful. I love the acknowledgement of darkness, the encouragement to move forward, then ending with using the darkness in a positive way. Voted up, awesome, beautiful. I stopped by to say Happy One Year Anniversary and to thank you for following me. You have great hubs.

      Amazing loops, and leaps, and bounds this poem has, the shadowy appearance the endless flaw, and then the bursting into liveliness, I loved it. Wow
