Katrina Britt Vintage Harlequins
ENGLISH ROMANCE AUTHOR
Katrina Britt was an English author who wrote about 30 romances for Harlequin. Her heroines were usually gentle English girls. I would consider her to be in the mold of Betty Neels; her heroines were sweet and her heroes were less aggressive than many heroes in other romances of the times. Most of her titles were published in the 1970's.
I am slowly reading all the vintage harlequins and as I do, I am adding details to the descriptions in bold.

2449 HOTEL JACARANDAS
HARLEQUIN ROMANCE SET IN SPAIN
Julie and Felipe were poles apart. Julie had never reconciled herself to her parents' divorce, so her holiday in Majorca with her father and his new wife was filled with underlying sadness. Her sadness, Julie soon found, was nothing compared to the heartbreak of falling in love with the dashing Spaniard, Felipe de Torres y Aquilino. They were from different worlds, had nothing in common. Yet Julie knew her life would never be complete without Felipe ...
Her father has run away with her best friend, Dale. They had worked in a bank together. Her father runs the Hotel Jacarandas, which Felipe owns. Dale seems to be unfaithful to her father.
She wanted the moment to last forever....It wasn't fair, Julie thought, that such a wonderful moment of enlightenment should be so brief. Evidently Felipe did not share her own feelings of joy at the discovery of her love for him.
Instead he spoke about Majorca, and she asked, "Have you always lived on the island?"
"No," he said, "the family home is in Cadiz. I spent my holidays her with my grandparents."
"How nice that such a place as beautiful as this should hold such happy memories for you." she remarked, envying the island because it had known him far longer than she had.
"I trust the island will hold happy memories for you, also," Felipe replied softly.
And Julie wondered whether she would have happiness to remember--or tragedy.
