laws of confession

Updated on December 17, 2015

A law is that which is laid or fixed. For example, physical laws tell you that if you throw up a ball it will fall back to the ground. There is only one way the ball will always fall once thrown up and that is down. A certain act will yield a certain result. There are different kinds of laws most of us recognize like the law of gravity and the law of drag, the law of lift, the law of thrust. These are all natural laws that govern our physical world. There are spiritual laws as we also have physical laws. Spiritual laws govern the spiritual realm but they also govern the physical or natural realm because everything in the physical or natural realm came from the spirit world.

One of the spiritual laws is the law of confession. Your words have power. In Genesis chapter one, we were made to understand how God the father brought the whole earth into existence by the spoken word.

And God said let there be light, and there was light.

And God said, let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters and let it divide the waters from the waters.

If you read the entire passage in Genesis chapter one, after you read God said, you will read and it was so. Whatever God says is what happens. If he said let us make man in our own image and likeness so that they can as well talk and it comes to be. So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth, it shall not return to me void but it shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Your words are powerful. It’s one of the ways you put your faith to work. Your words call things that are not as though they are and they come to be. When Paul mentioned all the weapons of our warfare, he placed the word in the fighting Zone. We use the sword which is the word to command victory.

Paul said and the sword of the spirit which is the word of God. So with the word in your mouth you command victory in life. What you confess that is in line with the written word is what you will have and become. The sword of a believer is the word of God in his or her mouth. That’s why King Solomon said, a man is snared by the word of his mouth and with your mouth you shall be justified or condemned.

The law of gravity governs our movement in the natural realm and likewise the law of confession governs our life from the spiritual realm. Words have spiritual powers and they are not to be taken lightly. Jesus said to his disciples, the words I have spoken unto you they are spirits and they are life. Most people have not made the connection between what they say and what they possess in life. They have no idea that the two are connected. When you speak Gods words in a situation, there are things that go into motion that you can’t see with your natural eyes. You must know that God is positive and proactive and He loves it when you act that way. When you are in a battle, he doesn’t mind if you are 50 years old or 12, what he is after is what you are saying in the midst of that situation. Whatever I shall hear them say is what I will so. You will never get anywhere by being negative and continuing to confess the problems instead of the promises. We know spiritual laws govern the natural laws, so it follows that spiritual words have dominion over natural words or things. Through the law of confession, God teaches us how to operate in spiritual law and have dominion over natural things.

Remember that through faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God. So there is a world of abundance, a world of divine health, a world of favor, a world of supernatural supply, a world of poverty lack and want, sickness and disease but the choice is yours to frame the world you want to live in.

Finally, you must believe what you confess or speak. You must believe in your heart what you speak with your mouth. One of the principles of the law of confession is that your heart and mouth must be in agreement. Amos 3:3 says can two work together except they agree. So your words can’t work with if your heart does not agree with what you are saying. When you speak vain words, you nullify the power in the word. You may say money come to me but in your heart questions like “who will bring it to me, where will it come from are going on”. Jesus said believe and you shall receive whatsoever. When you speak Gods word over your situations, believe that the word you have released is capable of accomplishing the task and will come back with a result. After you must have done all to stand, stand.
