Poems of Light in Music And Art

Updated on September 8, 2014

Light and The Age of Enlightenment on Music and Art Through Poetry

Using my original poetry, this lens explores the use of light and shadow in art, as well as the opening of our collective eyes to beauty during the Age of Enlightenment.

Part 1 - Light in Music and Art

Light in Music and Art

The Artist Sees Between the Beams

The artist sees between the beams

Of sunlight dancing on her face

And thus together colors teams

To capture shadows of her grace

He reproduces shades of life

For patrons hungry for his sight

To brighten a world still illed with strife

And bring men closer to the light

Prismatic Daggers

Prismatic daggers cut the space

As gleaming shards appear and dance

Like arrows through the window lace

Do men and women so entrance

Fracturing the whirls of dust

Unseen so often in the void

This play of light should be discussed

'fore change in angles they destroyed

Beautiful Prisms For Your Home

Harness the Shadow and the Light

Harness the shadow and the light

To serve beauty to opened eyes

The Artist works patiently to get it right

For he is talented and wise

Open your closed eyes

Lest ye be fully blind

Open your closed ears

And leave the darkness behind

Darkness and Light in Videos and Music

Part 2 - Poems for The Age of Enlightenment

Poetry for The Age of Enlightenment

With Untied Hands

With untied hands I may create

For you have not entrapped my mind

I hungrily unlock the gate

And open paths for those once blind

Music in the Age of Enlightenment

Open Your Closed Eyes

Open your closed eyes

Lest ye be fully blind

Open your closed ears

And leave the darkness behind

Fiat Lux

Let There Be Light

What Are You Doing to Spread the Light?
