Lingering Forgiveness

Updated on March 28, 2012

You softly whisper, I love you,

Gentle fingers brush away my tears

Anguished words escape your tender lips

Forgive me please, you say

Angry thoughts, escaping

Forming words, I know not why

Harshness erupts, lingering,

Between the heart of I,

Hurting, sorrow halts,

I know not why,

Forgive my anger,

Thy foolish ways,

Forever forgotten, away they stay,

For thy love for you,

Forever it be true,

Take thy hand,

Thy love be true,

Glimpse of colors amber, gold,

Lighting the evening sky,

The sunsets, the horizon behold,

I pull you close,

Answer not yet spoken,

I sigh, whispering thy love is true,

Gently thy kiss upon my lips,

My heart once broken,

Now it melds with you.
