~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`

My Name Is Sasha

I am seven

soon I will be eight

I have three broken ribs

and a loose tooth!

My Mum is dead long time ago

by a car accident as an old women next door told me.

My dad is an unleashed beast

always yells at me,

with no reason,

spanks my tiny butts with a belt

and sometimes, hits me with a frying pans

and once even with a baseball bat.

It is not funny

Right?

Absolutely, not a Tom and Jerry Cartoon Series

Or a Cinderella's fable

But something more:

A life enshrouded in a perputal darkness.

My Name Is Sasha

Once again just in case to not remember me

Trapped in a box

Breathing uncontrollably

Living a hell

blood oozing

out of my nose

with my wetting pants filling the space.

Every time

My soul is torn

Worn

Bare,

Unaware

Of what is to come.

Tonight

I stand in the dark

crying out for help

screaming and shouting like a lost soul in the air

but none as always come to help.

Sasha

Once and once and once

A million again

Remember me,

before I cut my wrists

and my blood hit the floor

Remember me,Sasha

with short vowels ,

beautiful eyes

blonde curly hair

And cute little soft hands

An angel,isn't it?

but not enough to be loved

Here is my plight

Check it

Or read it

Or trash it

But surely,It will be your nightmare:

As soon as I hear

those jingly keys

I run and hide in my mum's wardrobe

I curl into a ball at the corner

Hoping he won't find me

or forget just for a day he has a girl

I pray inside,deep within

But the beast always finds me

and pull my hair out to an other darkness

He punches my face and

Smack

Flop

Smack

locks me up in a cell underground.

Am I a curse?

Am I unwanted child?

Answer me !

Why God has forsaken me?

Why He has to put me all through this?

I hate the monthly visits from the ambulances and the cops!

I hate to be punched, kicked

Spat upon, every time I try to dial a reversed beast number

Or I say:Stop it.

Am I asking much?

Am I alone?

What did I do?

Nothing!

Hush,little beautiful angel,

Don't cry

God is above

watching every act

Every thing is gonna be fine

bruises will fade

Lullabies will be sung again every night

Your skin will bloom like a flower

Your days will be sunny

Your nights will be starry

Dear little Sasha

Hug ,Mr Fluffy

Your story is heard

Stay under the covers, tuck them in tight.

Close your eyes, pretend to sleep,

God has already sent his angels

James-This incredibly powerful poem really choked me up. I can just see all the pain and suffering of little Sasha. I want to go help her but feel so helpless. Child Abuse is so dark and evil and as you say, has repercussions for years to come for the child, if they make it that long. I am sharing this very important hub to educate people on this sad topic.

Beautifully and sensitively written. This should be read by everyone so I am sharing.

This is a sad story and one of many more that go unheard. I don't understand the mind set which makes an adult use a child as a punching bag, but I know if i witnessed an act like this i would report it. James you should add this to my poetry challenge called Save Our Children. I still get a lot of hits on there and this is a beautiful piece that needs to be heard.

@ lindalou1963,Thanks for the comment.I wrote it with tears.I wish one day ,people stop abusing kids, our angels. They are the real motive that keep us moving and stand against the vicissitudes of time and what entails.

It is time to make a change.

      Many Blessings

@shiningirisheyes. Thanks so much for your insight. It really does the same to me.I feel so angry at those bogeymen who lives among us,without heart and emotions, hurting, abusing, frightening kids. Why we are silent?why we shrug our shoulders and stand sidelines when we see and hear kids in great pain.W e should do something urgently to save those angels.

      Many Blessings.

      James.

James - I found this so extremely difficult to read and that is why it is so important to read it, devour it, take in every word, every emotion and every tear this stirs up. I refuse to turn away because it is a heartbreaking, emotional and terrible description. It tears at my heart, my mind and my soul. It angers me, makes me want to scream and cry. It scares me to see the monster hiding in some individuals walking this earth....terrifies me. I also feel utterly helpless.

The same emotions so many innocents must spend every moment of their little lives feeling.

      Sharing this.

Oh, I felt like hugging the child and telling her that she is loved and wanted. How many such children are there in this world like Sasha! My heart goes out to these little children who have no alternative but to be at the receiving end. What have they done to deserve this?

You have portrayed the innocent little child's plight beautifully. I can only ask, "WHY?" Why are such things happening at all? Would we ever want to thrash a cute little child whatever problem we may have?

I cannot understand how and why such monsters exist in this world.

We shall put an end to this evil. We shall. Peace. Rema.

Thanks so much for your insight and sharing .Our own community isn’t vigilant enough, many kids everywhere are abused and dying in silent. No single agency has the training, manpower, resources,or legal mandate to intervene effectively in child abuse and goverments are reluctant to enforce the law effectively protecting children.

Oh how truly sad and even sadder to know that it goes on wherever we live .

Many who are abused as children are given a life sentence so what is needed is for us all to become more aware of what goes on around us.

To stand up and make sure we are heard.

I am sharing this one onto billybuc's FB page H.O.W.

      Thank you again for sharing.

Thanks for the comment. It s unfair and needs to stop , stories I read online about it make me cry, it s a horrid thing to do!I read in a website that in 2008, one out of every 601.4 children were victims of physical abuse, with parents of victims accounting for almost 80.1% of abusers and 2.34 children out of 100,000 die from injuries relating to their abuse, with 80.8% of deaths occurring in children under four years old.We must take initiative to stop. Here too,In Morocco, especially girls as young as 8 endure physical abuse and work long hours for little pay as domestic workers. In the 73-page report, “Lonely Servitude: Child Domestic Labor in Morocco,” found that some child domestic workers (who are overwhelmingly girls )toil for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, for as little as US$11 a month. Some girls told Human Rights Watch that their employers frequently beat and verbally abused them, denied them education, and sometimes refused them adequate food.

So sad but a great hub;we have to speak out and fight child abuse. Here in the UK there are more and more people coming forward all the time about being abused when they were children by TV star Jimmy Saville and friends.

It was all pushed under the carpet in the 70s. I vote up and share here.Thank you again and let us all take a leaf out of your book James.

@GoldenThreadPress,Thanks so much for stopping by and commented.I appreciate that. Most abused children suffer greater emotional than physical damage. An abused child may become depressed. He or she may withdraw, think of suicide or become violent. An older child may use drugs or alcohol, try to run away or abuse others. We must do something effectively to help and protect them.

      Hi James.

A very disturbing hub that never seems to get enough attention. I also wrote a hub a year ago next weekon this theme.

It's a sad subject that never seems to go away and those at the center are always children.

Thanks for sharing and if OK I'll be sharing it with my friends in cyber-space.

      LOL Ghaelach

What a wonderful way to bring awareness to an insidious crime--abusing children. I hope your Hub sheds light to so many who may be able to bring some respite to these poor children. Voted Up! Best Regards--Deb
