My Magnum Opus

Updated on April 9, 2014

My magnum opus unopened weathered and worn
Dreams evanescent the only witness to my amour
Stubborn stars laughing resolute refusing to fall
Silent echoes like a phantom to my curtain call

From the dark pitch where the winds refuse to blow
Tattered shreds a semblance of a love grown old
Flowers wilt on a patchwork quilt of guilt and tears
Voices roar from my memoire only echoes of my demur

Peeling paint from my memories a light shines its hue
The leaves lightly rustle a ghostly wind blows through
Shadows appear on the walls pirouette and dance
Restless now is it just a dream I reach for your hand

Only shifting sand in an hour glass then you disappear
Stained glass faces stare sallow from the broken mirror
Thunder peels a thousand prayers for your safe return
Smoke from the ashes quell as the memory still burns

I have been waiting for your Magnum Opus, and I was not dissappointed. Jamie
