Monstrous Regiment (Discworld) Book Quiz

Updated on September 6, 2014

Monstrous Regiment is not everybody's favourite Discworld novel, but it is mine.

Set in a magical flat world on top of a gigantic spacefaring turtle, the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett is a body of philosophical work presented in the form of humorous fantasy fiction. Monstrous Regiment tackles gender, war, nationalism, religion, and army fiction through the story of Polly Perks, innkeeper's daughter, who dresses up as a boy and joins the army in a war-torn mountain country that has long since stopped believing in patriotism, let alone their ridiculous god, but cannot break away from the habit of war and xenophobia.

Bleak! But funny! With trolls and vampires! What's not to love?

Hi Vilja, great quiz. Reminds me that I need to re-read the book though.

I really, really need to read the book again (oh, I'm pretty sure that question 12 should be C, not A?)
