My Lives

Updated on April 18, 2015

my old lives trail behind me

a cape of shimmering jewels

rattling musically

as i wander my day

i feel the weight of centuries

light as gossamer on my shoulders

i am as old as can be but still

i wander on

they inform me like mist

gives shape to ghosts

whispering around the edges

never quite there

but always at the very center

of who i am now

the beings i have been

are becoming something new

in each moment of me i adjust

to the ever elusive now that

drags me through spacetime

shedding illusions and bodies

on my madcap dash from

once was to will be

the beings i will be wait

quiescent, imminent

patiently non-existing

awaiting emergence

que sera sera
