No Connections

by A. Gagliardi

I feel we are apart.

No connections made –

Where do we start?

We speak of banalities

and smile pleasantly,

without the profundities

that inhabit our heart.

We lick on the wind

to taste of each other,

without fully knowing the flavor

we cover.

I want you to bite me;

to Ravage my soul

and take me to places

I dare not go.

Come join me, and journey

to heaven and hell

then you can say,

“I knew her so well!”

A sad poem, agaglia! But memorable nonetheless.
