Outside Looking In

Updated on September 9, 2012

You are on the outside looking in.

And I am on the inside looking out.

You tell me how to feel without second thought or even a doubt.

How you live your life is the way I should live mine.

And if I have an opinion then I am way out of line.

If I cry you say that I am weak.

If I'm upset you scold me when I speak.

What I wonder is how do you know?

How do you think you can control me like a puppet in a show?

How I feel is something you don't know about.

Because you are on the outside looking in.

And I'm on the inside looking out.

Impressive and empathic are two words which come to mind when I read this type of poetry, sassyk73!

It is for me impressive, because of the depth of feeling which is portrayed, in the words used and the method they are laid out. It is empathic because it allows your readers to emote or feel the way you did when you created this piece!

Being able to generate that type of interaction with words alone is the sign of a skilled writer.Voted Up and Awesome, well done Sassyk73,Well Done!

Regards Mike (Aka Professor M!) ;D

You describe a dark place in your poem and you do so very convincingly.

I hope this is just a poem and not a discription of what is going on in someone's life, Because sometimes the window is not the answer, THE DOOR IS!
