Down, Down, Down

I look Down, Down mostly

When the workers are angry

Because their pockets are dry

They shut and fuss, in public offices when they are broke.

But I love pay day,

When they smile and laugh

They work joyfully

Then I can look up

Straight in their faces

And behold their joy

When their pockets are full

I love pay day,

When everybody smiles happily

Because their pockets are full

And their joy multiplied
