The Tao of Maggie: Perfect Gift for Someone Who Likes to Smile!

Updated on October 4, 2016

The sound of one basset hound barking--caught in a book.

The Tao of Maggie: The Sound of One Hound Barking, is proudly displayed in my home. It is a perfect book to give someone who is a hound lover or a dog lover of any kind. Now that I think about it, it is a wonderful book that you can give to anyone who needs to smile more.

Every time I open my copy of this little book, I find a new image of Maggie that so encapsulates the very human emotion I am feeling at that moment. I am so glad that I have this book and that I gave it to my husband. The book gives me a gift each time I touch it or share it.

"The Tao of Maggie" is a perfect Gift for a Book Lover! - Especially for admirers of the Basset Hound

I purchased this inspirational book many years ago for my husband. We were the caretakers for Howie, a tri-color basset that my daughter received as a gift while she was in college. As it goes with pets, we, the parents, ended up with him when she got a job after graduation. Howie immediately bonded to my husband, who reluctantly became so attached to Howie that he still refers to him as his "best friend". Sadly, Howie disappeared several summers ago.

What is it about the basset hound that stirs up so much emotion? I wish I could put it into words. Since I cannot, I recommend this book. It makes me cry every time I read it. It makes me smile, too.

There are more affordable copies, too. Just click the title link below to find them on Amazon.

No time is ever wasted if you have a book along as a companion.

Basset Hound Books to give to children: - Basset books for toddlers to pre-teens.

Even though I know that my grandchildren love The Tao of Maggie, they just might enjoy these highly rated picture and story books about this magnificent dog breed.

I discovered several books that my book loving grandchildren would love to have in their collections. I just might buy them for mine, too. I do love books and am reluctant to get rid of the ones that I currently own. I very rarely buy a book as I adore supporting the public library, but when I find a special book like The Tao Of Maggie, I do not hesitate whipping out that credit card. The same is true when buying a gift book--truly special books should always be bought without question.

Here is another book for the lover of the basset. Yes, it is hard to find and a bit expensive. Oh, well. I would only give one to a true lover of books.

BTW, if you have real books that you want to repair and take care of (since real books are becoming collectors' items) you might want to check out my page "Book Repair" by copying and pasting http://www.squidoo.com/BookRepair to your browser. Thanks.
