In Love's Absence - a Poem
Love lingers on finding you in the midst of darkness...
In the absence of love...comes a wishful longing
Before the sleeping sun wakes to rise
My mind was filled with thoughts of you;
With faint smile and dreamy eyes
You and I were under taboo…
A closed door and absent light
Seduced breathless kisses to the floor;
On a creased blanket soft and white
We desired for more.
Quiet stolen moments embraced that night
The only entertainment was the sound of a gentle rain;
A glimpse of your face through spectral light
Took my every breath away, again.
Our secret…soon unveiled
Like the bare-naked silver moon;
The door, the blanket, all revealed
I guess, it was too soon.
Then, I realized it was all a dream
And to find meaningful words to say;
Someway, somehow as it may seem
I long and ache to be with you this day.
