by Salini

Flashes of sound,

Echoes of light,

Blinds my eyes,

And drowns my voice.

Bombs dropping somewhere near,

shards of metal, skins me bare.

I am standing naked and gaping.

Cries for help is every where, booming.

My heart is breaking into pieces so many,

spluttering the blood all around me.

Burning my core and numbing the pain

What wrong I did to gain this? Please tell me again.

I raise my hands towards the sky,

asking for answers, praying for mercy.

I am not a Christian, I am not a Jew.

I am not a Muslim, I am not a Hindu.

I am not from Israel, I am not a Palestinian.

I am not from Pakistan, I am not an Indian.

I am not from America , I am not an Afghan.

I am a child of lord who just wants to live his life.

I am the son of god who hates the war and crime.

I am the boy who is the future of this sphere.

I am whom you have to protect from this torture.

I am the one who should not surrender to an end so obscure .

You, but are busy to fight the war

You are busy to gain the power

You, who care less the loss of lives

You who dine well when the others die.

Stop the war.

Stop the killing.

Lives of Innocents are at your end receiving.

Don't make them cry for the fault that is not their's.

Let peace prevail.

Help to rebuild from the remains.

Have mercy on your fellow beings,

Drop your weapons, retrace your steps.

Please STOP THE WAR I request...

Say 'no more' to wars again

Let the peace prevail once and for all, till the end...

So awesome! It is the old coots who profit from war who send our young and finest to be killed or maimed. There is nothing romantic or beautiful about war. Voted you up, useful, and awesome!

We all are at the mercy of our leaders and they know no fear but send out young men and women with families ...well I feel your words. Too true and terribly bad, too. What can any of us do? You express it well, the desperation of something we cannot stop. Pleading to the Lord is all we can do and hope He hears.

Beautiful and so true. War is senseless and many are the innocents. Your poem echoes their cries. Lovely and rated up.

This touched my heart so I would love to link this to one of my recent posts if I may. Thank you for sharing your heartfelt thoughts. Truly the children do not have a voice when the war wages around them. God bless them and keep them.

@mizjo Thank you for stopping by and posting the ugly truth of leeches who benefit from war. Hope the governments of all the countries realize that the humanity is more important than financial growth of anybody.

      Have a wonderful day ahead.

I watched a movie last night where a weapons dealer said, 'War is profitable.' From the financiers to the weapons makers to gas companies and infrastructure builders of war-torn countries ( eg.Halliburton), they bear great guilt for most of the misery the people suffer.

I don't know how to make governments stop wars, but only they can do it, and we are the ones who elect them. God help us all.

My heart aches and weeps with the endless innocent lives destroyed or for ever affected by the ugliness of war. I only wish those with the power to stop it practiced the great insight and love of humanity that you do.

      Blessings to you.

Thank you Michelle for your thoughtful comment. Tolerance is a virtue that I guess is no more in the soul of powerful people. They are supposed to handle sensitive issues of fellow beings with cool mind and tolerant attitude. Just hoping that the coming generations will learn from our mistakes.

Have a beautiful day and thanks for sharing.

I think nearly all war starts as a result of petty grievance and small mindedness....blown up into big issues that are hard to address. It will really take a lifetime before we learn tolerance! Thanks for a thought provoking afternoon! Sharing!

To stop wars, we must first stop tyranny and hatred.

      Excellent work.
