Poem - The Kisses

Updated on April 28, 2012

.

She kissed me

And I thought

oh f**k here we go again

tongue shoving

Slobbering

tongue biting

teeth knocking

where have they been

who trained then

I almost wake up at night some amateur kissing me

And I think, this idiot

Where is the gun when you need it

Then I remember Bernie Mc...

Such finesse, so controlled

a little pressure, not enough, not too much

I felt faint, even at this year's range

Forget how a woman looks

the kisses the kisses

can be divine.....

.

No kiss is useless. Its at least useful as a bad example. If there were no bad kisses, how would we know a good one when we got it? Drax, I linked your Hub on my new kisses Hub. Slainte.

It would be difficult to have a 'habit' of controlling the actions of others, I would think. Perhaps the wordz your guest meant were good fortune, happenstance, or the comment itself a hint of envy that you inpsire kisses generally from exotic and extraordinary women.

And kissing you out of the 'blue'? So specific. I could see women wishing to kiss you out of the burgundy, the chartreuse, the regal purple or even the tricolour. So many colours, so little time to kiss. ;)

      Hallelujah.

Jaggedfrost... thanks for the comment, it was more to do with reminiscing about a long lost kiss than anything else.. and then imagining the alternative.. like an If... in another dimension...

lol If you have a habit of having someone kiss you out of the blue I would say hallelujah and be done.

      Drax,

I found your poem beautiful and bringing back such wonderful memories of that first kiss. Thank you for making my day brighter with poetry. Everyone should read a poem a day.

      Well wishes,

It's amazing how "a kiss" may differ from all others. Not sure what it is - the texture of the lips, the amount of pressure, the passion restrained just enough but not too much, the scent of the skin, the time of day, whether or not it's a bit illegitimate, whether or not it's expected or a surprise - and what-all of various elements it has - but - yes - all others are inevitably to be measured by it thenceforth...

      I liked you poem, Drax.

I wasn't going to compete with your memories, Drax, so a simple *mwah* was in order...

      :)

It's all I could think of after reading "kiss literature" or "kiss poetry."

I love poetry but tend to be left with "impressions" and "feelings" rather than words, once I finish reading poetry...when I read many of the comments others leave under "Poems," "Poetry" and "Poetic" hubs, I'm absolutely STUNNED at how people can find their words when I cannot...

I just wanted you to know, Drax, that my lack of comments to your many written works in no way represents "lack of readership." Now I suppose I shouldn't just go *mwah-ing* around hubpages just because I can't think of any words...

      ummm...

@gusripper Thanks, this reminds me of Byron's quote... "In her first passion woman loves her lover, in all the other all she loves is love." Lord Byron, 1788-1824, English poet, Don Juan
