Poem - Shark Fin Bags

Updated on December 30, 2012

little bags

carried on their backs

like shark fins

their owners cruising for victims

in the upmarket bars

gold Armani blood attracting the pack

the universal currency of cruelty

the poor petty poet

invisible in inadequacy

repelling the rapacious timidly

though the smell of fame attracts

royalties registering relentlessly

kudos collated carelessly

another head for the shark-set wall

delicately dripping blood words

in defiance of the

pervasive posturing
