Retirement Book Review: How to Retire Happy, Wild, and Free
Retirement Can Be A Time of Creativity
What Does Retirement Mean to You?
I have lived in an age-restricted retirement community for a decade and during that time I have noticed that most retired people fall into two groups ... those who are so busy and active, you would hardly guess they are retired; or those who sit at home, watch television and live a lonely, isolated life. I certainly know which group I want to fall into!
I have also noticed that the group you fall into has nothing to do with how much money you saved before you retired. People who are living in tiny one-bedroom apartments sometimes enjoy a more fulfilling retirement than those who are living in large empty houses. Of course, the reverse can be true, too. It is all a matter of attitude rather than money.
This is why so many people have been drawn to read "How to Retire Happy, Wild and Free." (Available for sale below) This book is so inspiring that it quickly became the most popular retirement book available on Amazon.com soon after it was released. Many people instinctively know that having a big IRA or 401K is not enough. They also have to have a plan to actually enjoy their retirement years.
Think about the fact that although you may have worked 30 to 40 years before you retire, it is also possible you could live another 30 to 40 years after you retire. That is a lot of time to fill when you don't have a job or other obligations. What are you going to do with that time? Sit at home and watch television? Take naps?
Rather than living a dull, boring life, you could live a rich and exciting life full of purpose, meaning, travel and intellectual stimulation. Doesn't that sound a lot more appealing?
There are people in my community who belong to the theater group, the synchronized swimming group, the hunting and fishing club, a variety of charitable and religious organizations, the horseback riding club, and a wide variety of sports teams. They travel all over the world and some have served in the Peace Corp and other worthwhile organizations.
"How To Retire Happy, Wild, and Free" is a wonderful guide to help you truly enjoy the remaining decades of your life. In it you will find chapters with titles such as "Reclaiming your creative spirit will put joyful purpose into your retirement life," "Celebrate your eccentricity and you will be set free," and "Retirement is not a time to sleep, but a time to awaken to the beauty of the world around you."
Doesn't this sound like the kind of retirement you would love to have? Read this book and find out how to have the best retirement you can imagine!
