Saying Good-bye to Love

Updated on March 14, 2015

Bye bye love

give my regards to your faithlessness

you crushed my loving heart

now it will never mend

bye bye love

don’t ever come again

I learned so much bad from you

learned to lie to friends

bye bye love

hope you find the happiness you seek

leaving me alone and meek

hiding in the shadows of heartbreak

bye bye love

glad you had to fly

hope the tears I cry

bring you rain and gray skies

bye bye love

I don’t even want to know why

the next time love knocks at my door

I’ll probably pass out on the floor

bye bye love

hope a gypsy puts a curse on you

you were no good from the start

but you sure captured my heart

bye bye love

don’t come round again

my heart can’t take no more

so I say bye bye love

This one made me cry Rose. In that place where I thought I had no more tears.

The stages of a healing broken heart always seem to include anger. The good news is it gets better from there. Love the Monkees video. They were a favorite of mine when I was a little girl.

      Bye bye love

      So glad you're gone

Now I can fly on the wings of a dove

He'll show me beauty and a better man, so kind

Lucky me, I found him. He's one terrific find..

Loved it Rasma. I saw the Monkees in person in the early 80's at the Houston Astrodome. People were passing pipes all over the place. Whew!

      Gypsy Rose,

You've written about breakdowns; difficult to put into words, but I feel the vibration of what you are stating in your verse.

Loving people it has been once stated: "opens the window to your soul.'

Don't put a curse on me, my Sweet. Awesome poem. Peace.

Beautiful poetry with a curse on deceptive love. Deception is unforgivable. You made it clear here. Thanks for sharing it.

Hi Gypsy Rose Lee, love the mix of hurt and bitterness powerfully expressed in this poem. Mixed feelings like these often accompany heartache. The song that comes to mind for me is "Goodbye to Love," by the Carpenters. Thanks for sharing, voted interesting.

There are times Ananceleste if love doesn't work it is time to move on no matter how painful things may be. It was this song and one other that inspired me.

So true Shauna and yes, the Monkees have quite a few numbers that inspire. I used to listen to them a lot.

Glad you enjoyed this Ruby. I would have loved to see these guys in person. I could do without the pipes though.

      Thank you Christinemarie.

Thank you Manatita. No curses ever just blessings.

      You welcome Venkatachari.

Thank you Jan. The Monkees inspired this time but yes, that would have been another choice of song.
