NORMS

Updated on April 10, 2017

These Chapters Begin Within

we come into this world with so much responsibility.

that first breath we breathe.

we live to make others proud.

for a moment we wish we could all just remain happy with who we are.

who we will become.

WHO WE CHOOSE TO BE.

we get caught in this whirlwind of life's "norms"

and what were expected to become.

it's so discouraging when we have those thoughts of self doubt.

these thoughts may come in segments, last momentarily,

lead to creativity... but within is where it begins.

SELF LOVE.

you realize this the more you reach out,

and feel unfulfilled.

the more you focus on other's happiness

than your own.

It's feeling empty in a bar full of people talking over each-other.

are we enough?

is this what validation feels like?

it's listening to a conversation

happening behind you.

inching close.

"when I come into work here

I think, I wonder how this place is going

to blow my mind today."

IT'S JUST THAT.

a bar full of people

waiting to be blown.

or blown away.

suffocating,

momentarily.

that first breath

you breathe,

continuously can begin.

but this moment

comes

WITHIN.

Hey Terrie, thank you for sharing. I've been forming healthier habits mentally and physically. It's all about small steps and discipline. finding ways to sustain your well being. make it a habit to do something you love everyday. They say it takes 21 days to form habits. focus on self love for 21 days. I cut out all my social media then decided to keep twitter, I started eating healthier then cut out meat, I drank more water. a healthy mind starts with a healthy heart. I let go of what didn't fulfill me. I was stuck in the past and holding onto something that wasn't benefiting me for a little over 2 years. it finally took being alone and finding my higher power again. you are capable and deserve all the love

Rogan, I can relate to this very well. It takes along time for some of us to move beyond self doubt. I am still not completely there some days. Thank you for sharing.
