snowangel in spring

Updated on March 26, 2011

My Snow Angel

Springtime is a journey
from the grip of Winter
anxious to see the flower's
first colorful bloom
feeling warmth from the sun
burning on your face

Winter does not want
to release her flurried grasp
outside I witness joy
of my darling girl
just of the age of six
instead of inhaling the sweet
scents of blossoms
snow is now her plaything
falling heavy now
to see the such beauty
I start to ponder
how much I love the spring

How a day like this could be
smiling in disbelief
seeing how snow covering her
jacketed shoulders
her using socks for gloves
and boots on her feet
she keeps the door open for the dog
to seek shelter from the cold
but happy to be with the girl
wanders back and forth

See, how the snow
has overtaken spring
and there within the
falling flakes of this cold
my little snow angel dances
yes, there among the flakes
she plays with her careless happiness
as if it were Christmas day.

Beautiful. I love how you painted a picture in my mind and when I saw the pic, it was about the same. I love the painting.
