For Francis

Doubly challenge me when night is waning and time is fading

My future no longer claiming youthful dreams

Yet giving momentum to what seems

Like endless possibilities

Oxymoron sweet

Feeling uninhibited

I walk the skies of New Mexico

Remember I have wings

like Great-Grandmother Francis,

Matroness Egret

How beautiful I feel cloaked in

Her Opaque
