A Soft Place to Land

Updated on July 11, 2015

So tired of being strong

Because I'd done that for too long

All that I wanted was a soft place to land

When I felt too weak to stand

But it's a cycle that never seems to end

I fall hard then I get back up again

This is really good! I can sure relate to the words you have penned here.

The important thing about when we are "tired of being strong".

What I found to work for me, is I change my attitude and perception about whatever the issue is, that I would need strength for.

All I know is, when you can try to change your perceptions and allow all that you have accomplished be first consideration when you feel you are not "strong enough". Big hugs! (((((((((((((((shanmarie)))))))))))))))

      Have a peaceful blessed day!

      Shared and Up=useful, awesome!

Hi Jo! Big hugs back at ya. That's absolutely true. Changing perception or perspective

is the best way to get back up.

      Dear Shan,

You say so much in few words, which is a sign of a great writer! Yes, we must persevere to the end and we know we will receive our reward, no doubt.

Life is certainly hard, but we know we can place our strength in Him to face another day.

      Up ++++ and away

      Peace and hugs

We all know we're going to fall sometime, so a soft place to land would be wonderful. I like this, deep with meaning.....

Heart-touching poem and song, shanmarie. I can certainly relate. Getting up, going on, is at the end of the day the most important.

Beautiful poem. Nice song. Sometimes it's realizing that were already on the ground that is the key.

I suffer from fear, and so I am afraid of falling. This made me smile and remember that the landing is never as bad as I imagine it will be. Thanks

Thank you, dear Faith! Some of my most favorite poems from great qriters in history are short and sweet. Most of my own I favor are also the short ones.

Yes, that is most definitely where to placw faith and hope. :) Hugs to you.

Thanks, sunflower. Once we realize we've already hit the ground, we can get back up. Thank you for reading. Nice to meet you.

Thank you, Maria. The song is new to me as well. I wrote the poem and then searched for a song on YouTube. I actually had another one in mind, but this one seemed to fit better. Plus, the song suited my mood when I wrote the poem better than the one I originally thought of.

Eric, you make me smile with your comments. To me, landing is not always as hard as I imagine, but it often us quite hard. BUT - one does not have to stay broken.

People are more comfortable watching strength instead of weakness, but we all get tired sometime. Your poem is such a beautiful expression!

Sometimes we all just want to know what it feels like to land softly or to be in the clouds for just awhile. Soft landings are often found in the comfort of others, but may only be temporary. The only choice then is to get back up and try again, gravity or not.
